Other London ProjectsWestminster Bridge © Karen Neale please click on the image below to see a larger picture ![]() In addition to my 'London in Landcsape' project, I’ve been privileged enough to sketch some other wonderful places in London, where I have been based for well over a decade. This includes a project and exhibition at the Houses of Parliament in 2004 (see above), as well as being Artist in Residence at the Athenaeum (see below). The Athenaeum © Karen Neale please click on the image below to see a larger picture In 2005, very auspiciously,I was appointed as the ‘MCC Young Cricket Artist for 2005’ click here for details to cover events over the year at the Lord’s Ground. This included Bangladesh’s first visit to the ‘Home of Cricket’ and the gripping first Ashes Test Match. I also recorded the refurbishment of the Pavilion as well as other unusual views around the pitch and behind the scenes of this very special place. All of the sketches at Lord’s appear in the book, ‘Tom Graveney at Lord’s – A Year at the Home of Cricket’, written by Stephen Fay and published by Methuen. One of the most prestigious ones being that for the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust to present to Her Majesty the Queen. So somewhere in the Royal Collection you might just find the painting from my sketchbook below.....….. I’ve recently painted the view of someone’s seaside cottage, another a long cherished home in the Cotswolds, and then of course other places that have a special meaning to people, such as the old Arsenal Stadium. Please do contact me if you are interested in having a painting of somewhere that is special to you….. This is great for giving talks and workshops inspired by my sketches and experiences of my travels, such as the workshops on my Hadrian's Wall project, or the illustrated talk I gave at the Globetrotter's Club about my world heritage journey (when the article appears, please scroll to the second paragraph).
