Arsenal and The Willow Foundation

In 2006 I was commissioned by an ardent Arsenal supporter to produce two paintings, one from inside the old stadium (North Bank) at Highbury, entitled ‘Highbury on Dennis Bergkamp Day – 15 April 2006 ’ and one from outside the East Stand for the ‘final salute’ entitled ‘Highbury’. (Both images appear in Volume I of London in Landscape ).

We then got together with Arsenal’s charity of the season, The Willow Foundation , to produce a limited edition print run of 250 of each sketch. Dennis Bergkamp has signed each of the prints of the match named in his honour, and the five living managers of Arsenal have all signed the prints of Highbury.

The majority of the prints are held by the Willow Foundation and are available through charity auctions with all proceeds going to the charity. Prices achieved per print in auctions so far have ranged from a few hundred up to £3,000 per print!

We then did something similar with the new Emirates Stadium. The view outside the Stadium is signed by Thierry Henry and Arsene Wenger (the first captain and manager at the stadium), and the view inside the stadium is signed by Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Gilberto and Theo Walcott. A small number of the limited edition prints are held by me, the artist, and are available for purchase with prices ranging from £300 - £600 for each print and are available framed or unframed. Print size unframed is 61x 40cm, with the image size of 41x15cm landscape. Framed prints are mounted and set in a simple pine frame approximately 65 x45cm.

In 2009 The Foundation also commissioned me to paint a retrospective ‘Wembley on 30th July 1966’ and these prints are signed by Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Geoff Hurst. Once again do contact me for prices and further information.
